What sync'ing updates
Sync'ing refreshes three customer-level values on the open quote:
- Pricing tier. Updates the tier label and the underlying price basis used for each item.
- Payment terms. Updates whether the customer is on cash in advance, returns, or a net term like Net 30.
- Tax status. Updates whether tax is applied and recalculates the Tax line under Applied Charges.
Sync'ing does not update unit cost or material cost. Those values lock in when the quote is first created. If material costs have changed since then, you'll need to build a new quote.

Sync your quote
- Open the quote from your Action Required table.
- In the Quote View tab, look at the top right of the items table. You'll see the customer's current pricing tier, payment terms, and a Sync link.
- Click Sync.
- Review the labels and values in the quote:
- Tier label: shows the customer's latest pricing tier.
- Payment terms label: shows the latest terms (for example, Net 30).
- Tax: recalculated under Applied Charges.
- Percent Adjustment: may shift if the tier change moved the price basis.
You'll stay on the Quote View when sync'ing finishes, with the updated values in place.
How sync'ing handles your manual overrides
If you've manually overridden a price or adjustment on a line, sync'ing leaves your override in place. The label above the item updates to the new tier, but your override keeps taking precedence.
This means:
- The customer's new tier shows in the header, so you can see what changed.
- Your override on the line still controls the final price.
- The deviation between your override and the new tier price recalculates so you can see the gap.
If you want the new tier price to apply, clear the override on the line and the quote will fall back to the tier-based price.
Troubleshooting
I synced my quote and nothing changed. Nothing has changed in the customer's settings since the quote was created. Sync'ing only pulls values that are different from what's on the quote today.
The unit cost on my item didn't update. That's expected. Sync'ing doesn't touch material or unit costs, those lock in at quote creation. If material costs have changed, build a new quote to pick up the latest pricing.
My override disappeared after sync'ing. Overrides should persist through sync'ing. If yours didn't, reach out to your Stella Source Customer Support Rep so they can take a look.
The tier label updated but the line price didn't. You likely have a manual override on the line. Clear the override to fall back to the tier-based price.
My customer is set to taxable but tax isn't showing on the quote. Check your tax settings under Quote Settings > Product Management. Tax only applies in states you've enabled there. If the customer's state isn't enabled, the quote won't add tax even when the customer is marked taxable.
