Contract Parts
Contract Parts are fabricated items you sell to a specific customer at locked-in contract pricing, visible only to that customer in your online storefront.

Before you start

Contract Parts is a location-scoped entitlement. Before any parts can be uploaded for a customer, the entitlement has to be enabled for that customer's company location by your Stella Source Support Rep. Contact your rep first if Contract Parts is something you want to offer an account.

Once enabled for a customer location, the entitlement stays on.

What Contract Parts are

Contract Parts are fabricated items engineered for or contracted to a single customer, such as custom brackets, stamped plates, or parts unique to that customer's product line. Two things make them different from the rest of your online store:

  1. Visibility is private. Only the customer on the contract sees the part. Other customers, even ones shopping the same online storefront, never see it.
  2. Pricing is locked. The price you load is the price your customer pays, typically reviewed quarterly or on whatever cadence the contract calls for.

Contract Parts are not the same as Catalog Items. Catalog Items are visible across your customer base at standard pricing. Contract Parts are exclusive to one customer location at contract pricing.

What your customer sees

When your customer signs into your online storefront, their Contract Parts appear as a category called Contract Parts for them to shop by SKU.

Your customer also still sees your full online store. That means they can discover Stock Material and Catalog Items outside their contract, which use your regular catalog pricing. That's how contract accounts can grow into transactional business.

Troubleshooting

My customer doesn't see any Contract Parts in their online storefront

Confirm the Contract Parts entitlement is enabled for their company location. If the entitlement is on and parts still don't appear, the issue is on the upload side. See Uploading and Managing Contract Parts.
